I edited my previous post. The buses are not bad., Frequency is 35 min and it's pretty much connection. If I would be aboput to use just one line it would be perfect. To some locations I must change buses once and then it takes longer. And of course, waiting for the second bus might also be longer, because often they are not on time.

I mean, a bus isn't great forever, but doable for a few months, right? In the meantime you earn money for your car, instead of waiting around :)

If you have lost your license maybe.

I used the Buses and was amused that how unreasonably licenses had been taken away seemed to be the main conversation.

 what?

I used a public bus to get to middle school, in a red state. I used buses in college, I used buses after that, and I ride buses sometimes now. I rode a bus on Tuesday. No one's ever told me that's not American.

I'll raise you with... I think it's pretty American to be industrious and do what it takes to work.

They have lots of busses in Boulder.

I like it when on busses there is the "regular" who talks with the driver, it's funny.

She.

Misuzu - basic question is - what job are you looking for ? What job would you look for had you not immigrated to US ? Opportunities with just a high school are going to be limited and you would've been much better off graduating from college in PL, then moving to US and paying lots of money for school here...

Bus transportation is very common, and using the transit system to get around. Not sure whats ur hangup, its gets you to where u need to go.

Kzielu, yup maybe it would be easier, but life went like this, so I am looking for here. And college is expensive, but for making money here is affordable.

In Poland I would be looking for waitress but I don't know if I cope here. Maybe I should try...

I'm looking for anything that would match me like Starbucks, clothes shops, receptionist, etc. it is a lot of places to work with but the main problem is to get it ;) also I worked in logistics but too short for the competition here.

I also send resumes for markets, but for some reason I shouldnt really work there.

Indeed doesn't really work for me. It's rather for people with experience or qualified.

And yes, I'm in southem California...it seems like it's lots of places to work, but it's hard.

How about Costco? They pay a living wage.

I'm told by some friends that while Costo pays a decent hourly, they expect you put your family and personal life second to them...a far second actually

You mihgt want to talk to people who have been there

Depends on the city, I think. Almost everyone around me commutes via public transit (myself and my husband included), and it's by choice. Parking downtown is expensive, most companies subsidize transit passes, and it is less stressful than traffic.

In fact, the only places I've lived in where transit use wasn't a part of every day life were places that had a population of under 150,000.

(And I'm one of those regulars who chats with transit drivers, Harpa. It pays benefits!)
