Summer time is bit harder because both high school and college students are back home

and taking up a lot of entry level jobs.

And many entry level jobs in small business do not get advertised.

Also, many jobs require you to have a driver's license and access to a car

that you can drive back and forth on your own, unless you are in an area

like New York, Chicago, etc. where public transportation is really good.

Do you have a driver's license and access to a car?

How will you go back and forth between home and job?

That said, both of my kids had no problem finding part time jobs while they were in

high school and in college.

If you are willing to take on many types of job, here are some ways..

1. Check local supermarket stores, and often they have "Help Wanted"

posting by the entry.

2. Just walk into small businesses like restaurants, small stores,

gas stations, etc. and ask for job opening. I bet if I walk into

100 small business over few days, I can find an entry level job if I had to.

3. Deliver newspapers/advertisements. Often they need help.

4. Do delivery for small restaurants

5. Walk around the neighborhood and offered to cut their lawn grass.

This is what I did when I was 13 and I earned my own allowance this way.

6. Check out big car wash place with lots of workers.

Our car wash near my home must have about 30 people working there.

7. Go to a shopping mall, and visit every store...especially small ones

because usually owner/family runs the place and they can quick hiring decision.

8. Also, there are online jobs you can find from places like freelance.com

and there are entry level jobs like testing their web site.

Some are even willing to pay to build a Facebook or Twitter pages.

Not a high pay, but still some side income.

If you really want to work and find an entry level job, I bet you can do that

within 2 weeks.

Now if you want a real job that pays well and have some career potential,

then safe route would be to go to college, or at least go get some

specialize certifications.

You are a great candidate for ESL classes which can provide additional education that you will need as well as helping you to find jobs. Because you have a G card you can seek a Pell grant to help pay for the classes. With right plan you can be given enough money to attend class as well as additional funds to enable you to live while going to school.

Use the web and go to your local college for more info.

Because you level of income may be low you may not have to pay taxes. When you are hired there will be a form to determine you basic taxes. At the bottom there is a place to declare you will be tax exempt. If you income is in fact fairly low check that box and initial.

If you want to see how you might be taxed try using Tax Hawk on line. Its is free for lower incomes. If you do this just don't actually file the return where you just put in numbers that you guess will be accurate.

(Technically) yes you need to pay tax on them.

But if your total income for the year is less than $10,000,

then you don't have to file tax.

However, if you do file, you can get back most of the taxes you paid.

My local Walmart had signs up looking for staff.

Yeah there might be something like this... but anyways, I will be filling taxes with my husband, so I think I will have to pay.

What about job agencies? Will it work for me?

Oh I never thought about Costco. But I Dont have DL and car yet, so it will probably take 2 more months to be 100% available to use car. And costco I need car. Ahh I cant sit at home anymore XD It's already 8 months!!

EDIT: I look at glassdor now and costco minimum is 10$/hr. Really not bad. And I could take bus which take 1 hr 15min xD when by car id like 15-20 min to get there xD but if worth it would be fine. But... I dont really have experience.. they might want expereince.

I edited my previous post. The buses are not bad., Frequency is 35 min and it's pretty much connection. If I would be aboput to use just one line it would be perfect. To some locations I must change buses once and then it takes longer. And of course, waiting for the second bus might also be longer, because often they are not on time.

Thank you Harpa for idea. I will apply. In USA it is convenient to apply for job online, but it is so tiring to do many and often the same application which takes soooo long :P

When i moved to US i didnt have DL also. I used indeed.com to find jobs in my zip code area ( advanced search, scroll down, choose zip code and pick "only in") and found a job 4 miles away from home. I was biking there to start with (on the side walk,as too scared to bike on the roads in Orlando) and now I'm still working there enjoying a nice <10 min commute by car :-) Now, I'm not saying it will work in your case but may be worth a try! Good luck!

It is not where I breathe but where I love that I live.
