Apply as a refugee or keep the i-130??

Timeline

We reviewed a letter in the mail today that says we have the option to change our I-130 to refugee application.

Right now were at the affidavits of support part on out 130 application n looking for a sponsor.

Will changing to refugee go faster ? I attached the letter they sent plz help me

What's the pros cons if I change to refugee

Its been a year since submitting I-130 and were still in two different countries :sleepy:

May be I am not understanding this correctly, why are you looking for a sponsor? Is your USC spouse not available for support for some reason? I don't see the attached letter, so can't advise on that. Can ou just explain a bit more? Never heard of such a situation before.

Well I'm the USC I don't make enough and homeland security out of nowhere send me a paper that my husband can apply as a refugee I guess because of the situation in Iraq...I'm not finding any person with enough income to do the sponsorship so I don't know if I should switch the application as a refugee and what if it doesn't work out I don't know if I can switch back or not

I don't have much experience, but does your husband plan on traveling to Iraq in the near future? I believe traveling to one's home country as a refugee invalidates his refugee status.
