According to this article:

"Unspecified glitches in the department's Consular Consolidated Database have resulted in "significant performance issues, including outages" in the processing of applications for passports, visas and reports of Americans born abroad since Saturday, spokeswoman Marie Harf said. She said the problem is worldwide and not specific to any particular country, citizenship document, or visa category."

Does anyone have any more information on this? I'm trying to call NVC.

It's all over this site today. The Department of State put up a Facebook post about it yesterday. Nothing on their site, though.

I'm calling BS. Every article that's been posted about this is an exact copy of this one. Sorry I don't have any respect for Fox "news". Something bigger is going on or someone is just not checking their sources.

Why is it not being reported by REAL news agencies.

Just sayin'

The Star Tribune (along with the Washington Post, The Guardian, etc) posted it as well. Someone commented on the Star Tribune article that "unspecified glitches" is government speak for "we got hacked".

Maybe the Department of State's Facebook page was hacked, too? That seems to be the only place they've acknowledged this issue.

I have been looking for something on the Dept of State web site, but have come up empty-handed. The only place they mentioned it was through a Facebook post. If you found it, can you send me the link please?

I'd love to see it on CNN. If there is a link, I would be grateful.

I am not in the office today but I do have work to do so I'm sorry if I didn't see every possible link that exists for this. I did a search after seeing the OP and it doesn't come up on the sources I usually use to read my news, ie NY Times. I don't trust Fox news and newspapers like dailymail.

Also, I found it strange that in places it did come up, the article was exactly the same, word for word. As if someone was sent the story and told to just paste. Also, I saw in another thread that some people had the opportunity to call in and find out and the responses varied from the agents either saying they know nothing about this and it's work as usual, or avoiding the question.

I do think there is something definitely going on as people with recent interviews have reported issues. I'm starting to wonder if they were hacked  Although, I shouldn't find this funny, my husband's interview is in a couple weeks and I don't want anymore delays!

At this stage it's either laugh or cry.
