Should DS-160 confirmation be submitted to CONofficer at interview?

Hi,

During my interview in London last Thursday I was asked at the first window for my "receipt of payment" for the online visa application (K1 - I filled in the DS-160) but the actual confirmation page for the DS-160 (the one with my photo, AA number and barcode) I was never asked for - did they make a mistake? I had it with me but they never asked for it. Have others submitted this form when the conofficer collects your paperwork at the first window?

I'm concerned that this could be delaying my case. 1 week now since my interview and still showing as "ready" on the CEAC status check.

They don't need to keep your confirmation. They have the full digital copy you submitted. I think the confirmation part is maybe to cut you from the outside line as not prepared for interview if you don't bring it. And that is more for the other non-immigrant visas like student, tourist, etc that don't have the extensive run up before the appointment that you had. And inside if the DS-160 wasn't in your file, you have your proof of submission so they can track it down.

Thanks for confirming Nich-Nick. That's good news.

Though, bad news is it looks like it may be this http://news.msn.com/us/glitch-crashes-global-us-passport-visa-operations that's slowing the whole process!

WOW!

Well at least you know it's not something wrong with you or your case. Disappointing to have to wait however.

Just a quick update. So still no visa for me yet (8 days since interview) but there has now been an update on my CEAC status, a slightly strange one...

It changed today (25th July) - It's still saying "Ready" but is now dated as last update being 21st July. I'm assuming this is good news as there is now movement on my case since the interview last week (17th July) but bizarre how it's dated from 4 days ago... Nothing else to report.

Thankxs Bjl73 and Nich-Nick for your reassuring words.

regards,
