As long as there is 6 mos or more of validity on your passport there should be no issue.

Happy new year everyone!! My flight is next week.. Excited! Just want to ask something. So after we get married, next step is the change of status (green card). I believe the question about drugs will come out again in the change if status form and other future application forms. Should i say yes again and jeopardize my residency all over again?? Or can i say no now because the st lukes doctor just asked if "have you ever tried drugs" vs the forms "offense due to drug use".

I said yes to st lukes because its true i tried ONCE! But i passed my psychological exam and did not fall under class A. I just dont want to give them the impression that i am lying if i say no now to the future forms that i will fill up. Hope someone can help.

For everyones reference. Here is the question in the form.

Have you ever inside or outside the US knowingly committed any crime of moral turpitude or a DRUG RELATED OFFENSE for which you have not been arrested?

Should i say yes or no if i admitted to st lukes that yes i have tried puffing once in my entire life.

It's been suggested to you over the course of this thread that you should ALWAYS tell the truth. I hope you heed those words. Good Luck.

I know. But is admission of trying marijuana once in my entire life to the civil surgeon tantamount to a DRUG RELATED OFFENSE? Or are there any other qualifications to be considered as one.

If yes, then I should say yes to that question.

Only a few years ago it was a lifetime ban for admitting Drug Use, I see they have lighten up on this.

Just a FYI to anyone else wanting to admit drug use like on weed, How did you know the marijuana containted THC?.

THC?

Tetrahydrocannabinol - Google It

It is basically the component in weed that gets you high.

You could of had ditch weed or K2 (Synthetic "Fake" Weed) that is a "Spice" that is legally sold in many part and people smoke it.

The issue in the Philippines people are conditioned to fear "Authority Figures", whether they are security guards working the front door of a mall and are doing a body search on the guys and doing a purse search on the girls or it a quack doctor working in St. Lukes Extension.

Personally I would never admit to any one anything I have done in my past that would be considered illegal.

Nobody is going to tell you to lie because that is visa fraud, a serious offense that will get you banned from the US.

Of course admitting drug use is trouble too, but if we are talking pot, it can be overcome, although it will take time and trouble to do so.

We can only advise. The end decision is yours alone because the consequences of deciding poorly are yours alone (and your fiance's of course).

I will say yes and just provide an explanation. I know that the evaluation of the psychologist was good because i have a friend who works at st lukes and has access to every patients database. Accdg to her, evaluation was "Applicants use of cannabis does not fit the criteria of substance disorder"

But still i admitted of puffing once and that is enough to be considered a drug offense. I bet yes is the best answer and provide an explanation (explain what happened). I know USCIS has my medical files so they can verify the psychs evaluation.

Im just really hoping for the best. I really dont want to lie coz thats good as suicide.
