I will just renew it when it expires. Since i can still leave with my existing passport whose expiration is July 26, 2015. Since ik leaving first week of January

Renewing in the USA requires your presence at the consulate that represents the state you are living in (or at an outreach event when it comes to town). Ah you are in CA, that would be the consulate in LA... may be easy for you. ;)

Can you explain it further hank?is it complicated? My fiance have renewed her passport before in the us when her passport expired. She said it took her a month. But she has not mentioned anything about appearing to a consulate. She just said she sent her passport to Washington dc

Just a word of caution, you need to enter US before the expiration date of your visa. The visa validity is normally +6 months from your medical date.

For the passport renewal process in DC: http://www.philippineembassy-usa.org/philippines-dc/consular-services-dc/faq-dc/#renewal

Edit: Wait, so your fiance is in LA? here's the link for the PH consulate in LA: http://www.philippineconsulatela.org/consular%20services/conserv-ppt.htm#1

So as of today, status is now administrative processing. Updated date is 8/15/2014 manila time. It says "this can take up to several weeks blahblahblah". I hope it wont take that long. Is that what it says on your administrative processing status as well?

It always states that, if there are no issues it will probably change Friday or Monday.

After ISSUED it will still be a couple days for printing the visa in the passport and packaging for pickup by 2GO. Wait until Monday.

the traveldocs website works fine, the other site is the ceac site, here is the link to the guide.
