Sounds like someone pressed ctrl+alt+dlt and messed the whole world up!

More like "we spent all the money on adding all these fancy features like facial recognition and finger print scanning instead of upgrading our infrastructure to prevent massive collapse from the ineveatable increase in data."

I second that. You and me both. :jest:

Have we heard of any improvement in the situation at all? Haven't been on the thread in a few hours.

It's the government so who knows. It seems like they've been trying to cover this issue up for a while so it's hard to tell if there is any improvement. Some visas have been processed as issued but I haven't heard anyone get their passports back yet.

Lovely....

I just read part of the link that was in the prior page and they say that they've been able to issue most visas with few delays. Isn't that a bunch of bs given how people on VJ are reporting not having gotten their visas after an abnormally long wait???

Some people have had a quick turn around. I think it depends on where you apply, what visa you apply for and how big the backlog is (Seoul reports being fully functional again with no delays). Some people have been waiting over a week (like us) for their status just to switch from ready. And some places are experiencing just a small delay, such as an additional day or two. So I believe it's entirely dependent on your individual embassy.

When you say "switch to Ready" are you referring to right after Case Complete or what happens after the interview? Just clarifying.

When I say switch from ready I mean after the interview when your status says "ready" and then in most cases it goes from AP to Issued.

If you're refering to my earlier quote re: Seoul, I've only been able to confirm that they're processing US passports without delays. American Citizen Services just told me that they have no information on immigrant and non-immigrant visa process times and sent me to the same outsourced customer service agency that has been unhelpful or unresponsive to my previous queries.

My wife's interview was on July 22 and we're still at "ready" with a status updated date now changed to today. Not out of the woods yet.

I guess I spoke too soon. Moved from "Ready" to "Administrative Processing" to "Issued" in a matter of about 30min. Then got a response to the email I'd sent earlier today saying that the courier would pick up the visa for delivery at 4pm.

I've got my fingers crossed we hear something today. Hopefully 'issued' but at this point I'd just like to not see the word ready any more.

I've seen people from the UK, with similar timelines getting their visas issued, so I think you will get it soon. And I hope that too, because your timeline says you are getting married very soon. So good luck!

I'm definitely hoping so! I'm surely losing sleep over it all any way. Luckily we can get our marriage license the day of our wedding so there's that small miracle.
