It sounds like they're starting to catch up. I'm expecting in a day or two a formal release stating that the services are back up and running at full capacity.

That would first require London to make a formal release that they were experiencing a delay.

NickB, we did receive that message at first. Today ours got updated to a slightly different message with a new creation date, but still stuck on "Ready". Our interview was the day before yours, so if things are progressing at a steady pace, you should have a new creation date and a slightly different message in a few days. I cannot guarantee it though, I'm just going off what I gathered from previous posts. From then it should (relatively) quickly change to AP and then to Issued. But again, that's only what I gathered from other posts, and should be taken with a grain of salt.

I wonder if the K-1s and CR-1s are getting processed at the same speed?

According to the Department of State, immigrant and adoption visas are priority, so theoretically they should be at a faster speed.

Less promissing update:

"The Department of State continues to work to restore our visa system to full functionality. We anticipate it will take weeks to resume full visa processing capacity. We continue to prioritize immigrant visas, including adoption cases. So far, we have been able to issue most cases with few delays."

I think it really depends on the individual. When I reached out to Dept of State, they said visas are been printed at reduced capacity so it's pot luck really. I thought London would take forever but perhaps they just have more staff dealing with backlogs. Who knows?!? My CEAC was on AP from 23 July and switched to issued today and then I got my email to collect.

What I have learnt is that the messages put out by DOS is generic but if you read the London embassy blog - all that was really mentioned is CEAC may not be updated so no word on processing issues/delays.

Good luck to all who are still waiting!

So we emailed the embassy and they answered a quite frustrating answer, but nothing new. "We are very sorry to say that, due to the system problem we are not able to speed up the issuance of your visa at this moment. However, we hope that the situation will normalize soon. "

Now I'm wondering. Our case changed today to AP, with a Case creation date and a status update date July 30. But in the title it says "NONIMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION"

I am wondering, if they said the priority is with the immigran visas, does that mean we are screwed? They have a very weird way to manage this nonimmigrant-immigrant visas for K1.

Anyway, let's keep hoping everything will get better soon.

ours says nonimmigrant as well and our case creation and status date both updated to today, however we are still in "ready". Fingers crossed we get moved to AP and hopefully issued tomorrow, but it's sounding like it's good news if your case creation date changes.

I don't know how it is in the UK particularly, but it seems the change o status depends on every embassy. Some go from one Ready to the other kind of Ready (the one that states your case is open) to Issued. Some go to AP. We went to AP, but Embassy told us they can't issue visas at the moment. So if you have any update on your case, keep us updated.

I definitely will. As stated earlier, we got our State Senator involved who are checking on the case for us. We had to sign a release form but hopefully they can get us information. If anyone else is able to get in contact with their senator it's worth a shot as they aren't happy about this either and have better access to the DOS and a better chance of finding out exactly what's going on with your case.

1) My Senators suck and are completely useless. They've done sod all the last year.

2) DoS just posted another Facebook post. MUCH more info and it's super long. I'm on my tablet so copy & paste would take more patience than I have right now, but it's worth checking out.

Why I don't see anything in the DOS facebook page? am I in the right place? (https://www.facebook.com/usdos)

My favorite part:

Q: If CA is fee funded, why can’t it build a robust database that doesn’t fail?

The database has grown dramatically, in both quantity of data and functionality, and vastly improved border security. In addition to checking names against databases, we review fingerprints and perform facial recognition.

We are working towards modernization of our software, hardware, and infrastructure. Demand for our services outpaced our modernization efforts.

Consular Affairs has, and has had, a redundant system. However, the upgrade affected not only our current processing capability, but also our ability to use our redundant system. This is one of the issues we are urgently addressing now.
