CABA Wives and girlfriends cost you houses, cars and jewelry. Friends not so much. (GandD has edited TeddyB's original quote. What you see here is not what TeddyB originally wrote, rather what member GandD has changed it to)

You left out the most important part.

Speaking of black friends, I just got a spam email to join "Black People Meet." Maybe this is the opportunity to make more black friends I've been waiting for!

Just make sure they're not from Africa.

I respectfully disagree with you, and I say this as someone who has more than a passing interest in legal history and the common law. Interpretation of the underlying law may evolve (obviously, since we are a common law jurisdiction), but the tenets beneath the laws stay relatively stable. How are we not a nation of laws now? How were we not a nation of the laws in 1780, 1880, 1980? Observations are pointless without actually saying what the basis for the observation is.

There was a guy I know who told me of his own horror story with he Law, the ended up having to plead guilty as he simply did not have sufficient resources to fight it and the Prosecutor knew that. I know enough of this particular incident to know it is true. And you will find many many similar cases if you look.

I was interested in the local history, one of the advantages here is that you do not have to go back that far, nothing much has changed.

The US system strongly favours those with money, always has.

Lots of Hispanics, would two of them equal one black?

Nope. Hispanics are a different tier of discrimination. In order to get the authentic feeling you gotta go with a black person.

See? We can't even warrant email, just spam. Racist!

Having black friends sounds too complicated.

It's not. Don't fear the darkness.

Which system doesn't?

Do I gotta like, keep emergency "black hair products" at the house like I had to keep tampons when chicks decided they were going to stay over a lot?

Wouldn't hurt. Folks are already acting up at hotels for not having them.

Shampoo is racist? Give me a break. It's ageist. I find it offensive. 20 years ago I had use for it but now? What exactly are these hotels trying to tell me?

Screw the whole racism and inequality in America stuff. Everything black folks have to go through for hair/skin care is one of the greatest injustices of all time.

I find I have to use less than I used to. One would think my hair cuts would be cheaper too, but alas, they are not.

Even I found that one far fetched.
