I-130 - Need help specific to Canadians

Hi Fellow Canadians!!

I am wondering if anyone out there can help me with a question?

I (Canadian) recently married a USC, and we are doing the I-130 and I-485 paperwork for AOS etc.

I have been in the US since Dec 2013 on a 10 month J1 Specialist visa (valid until 10/2014). As some of you may know, as Canadians, we don't technically have a J1 "visa"; it is a J1 "status". Unlike other countries where the J1 is an actual visa pasted into one's passport and obtained at a consulate, ours is processed via a DS 2019, and said DS 2019 is processed at the port of entry to the US and an I-94 is given. So, no "visa" exists.

On form I-485, part 3, #A, it asks for a few things:

nonimmigrant visa number:

date visa was issued:

consulate where visa was issued:

Does anyone have an guidance as to what I should put there?

I have a DS 2019 and an I-94.

Thanks for any help you can lend to this!

m.
