I applied over 3 weeks for my social security card upon receiving my EAD. I still haven't received it, what could the possible hold up be. Did anyone waited longer ? Please share your experience

AOS TIMELINE 2014

APRIL 28TH MAILED OUT TO CHICAGO LOCKBOX
APRIL 29TH DELIVERED AND SIGNED FOR
MAY 6TH EMAIL NOTIFICATION AND MONEY ORDER CASHED
MAY 9TH RECEIVED 3 NOA'S
MAY 12TH RECEIVED BIOMETRIC APPOINTMENT FOR 6/04/14
MAY 13TH WALK-IN BIOMETRIC SUCCESSFUL

MAY 27TH EMAIL CAME I-485 CHANGED TO TESTING AND INTERVIEW

JUNE 24TH EMAIL AND TEXT CARD PRODUCTION FOR EAD DUE TO EXPEDITE APPROVAL

JUNE 30TH EAD RECEIVED

INTERVIEW DATE AUGUST 27TH

When I have updated my last name on my SS card after receipt of the EAD recently (note I already have a SSN in my maiden name), I received it after about 4 weeks. Applied June 6, received it on July 2. It's most likely due to a delay in the DHS / SAVE database verification process.

You can probably give SSA a call if you have a chance, but last time I called them, I only waited for 40 mins, only to be told 4-6 weeks is the standard waiting time for verification. :rolleyes:

It was my first time applying for a ss .I got a letter stating that they need to verify and it can take up to 4 weeks. I am getting frustrated because I need it for work

Sorry correction My son's EAD took 6 weeks and his SS card took two week. I assume you went to apply for the SS card. They did not "just" send his. We had to go to the SS office and apply. that took about 2 weeks after we applied.

Idk whats ttakin them this long, would go to the office and ask for the number tomorrow I need it for work
