I recently got my fiance K1 visa and am moving to the USA next week!

Once we are married, I think I will be covered on my husband's work health insurance plan but I am a bit clueless on where to go for affordable healthcare coverage from when I arrive until we are married.

Any tips and advice much appreciated. Thank you!

There is no good answer other than get married asap.

You can get short term Health coverage for new immigrants.

Here is something I found on Google in seconds. I have no idea how good/bad this site is but it is an example of what you can find.

Get married. You spouse can add you as marriage is a life change event. Generally you have to do it within 30 days.

I found this site

Monthly healthcare coverage starts at about $29 for a K-1 fiancee visa holder.

Has anyone else got experience of using this provider?

It seems like an affordable option until my fiance and I are married.

You sure yo will have enough coverage?

For that payment you would only have $25,000 coverage. That is not a lot. you might consider $500,000 or up to $1,000,000.

Remember doctors here are procedure happy and deathly scared of being sued, so cost can be high and go up quickly.

Good link. I'd go with a higher coverage though. I'll be purchasing a 3 month plan with them.

Better than nothing.

I suppose......

Still think the OP should maybe try and get a bit more coverage. For example I passed out and banged my head, I came round and felt better shortly after. The wife took me to the ER and they ran multiple test.

The bill came out to over $20,000.
