Does the embassy schedule your interview date or can you do it yourself?

I was wondering if the consulate schedules the interview date or do we do it ourselves?

I'm a bit worried if they schedule it because looking at the dates, it might be when I am having an operation.

My embassy is in Sydney, Australia.

It depends. Some Consulates/Embassys let you schedule online. Others schedule it for you.

I will give you an example. For the Philippines you have to schedule it online.

Australia may be different.

I was sent a date, but like razpaz says, you have to reply to email to confirm, or ask to change date.
