Interim EAD card: has anyone had one?

The USCIS got my AOS package on 12th May and I am waiting on my EAD card, which with the 90 day waiting period should mean I will have the card by 12th August. I may be getting a job offer soon (I will know by 23rd July, fingers crossed) and will obviously need my EAD card to begin. My potential employers will be willing to wait for me to get my EAD card, but if by some bad luck I don't get it by 12th August how can I go about going a interim EAD card? Has anyone had one before? How do you get one? How long do they take?

You will have it by then. Or at least, it will be approved by then. If it's not in your hand by then then getting a an interim one won't help either, as it takes time to be produced. Congrats on your good fortune in finding a job.

Anna Grant, UK member, says got an expedited EAD because she had a job offer. Not sure if that would help you since you are about due anyway.

You can submit expedited request if your case is pending more than 75 days according to USCIS website. Most of us got approved after calling about 1-2 days. Your application is about 72 days from May 12, so you can call next Monday to request.

Hmm that is interesting. Do you know where I can find this on the USCIS website? I looked myself and the most up-to-date information I could find was from 2011 and didn't mention at 75 day benchmark.

Most of us called after 75 days and got approved. You need to count exactly how many days after you filed because the customer service will tell you that your application is not pending more than 75 days even it is.

OP: I bet your EAD will be approved this week or next. Your VJ timeline predicts it will be approved next week. You are getting closeish to 90 days anyway.

Hi everyone! My name is Lina I'm from France.

Here's my timeline:

-filed for I-130/I-485 and I-765 on May 12th 2014 to Chicago lock box

-RECEIVED DATE: May 14th transferred to National Benefit Center

-Biometrics done July 1st

-I-485: on Testing and Interview right now since July 9th

Here's the thing, I'm able to see my updates on the I-485 but not for the I-765. It says that they can't find my receipt number. I called USCIS a few times and finally got a Service Request, don't know what it means exactly though. How long does it take to get the interview appointment?

I have a job offer for the end of July or beginning of August, they are waiting for me but not sure how long they are gonna wait. I'm worried because I don't have any sign of my EAD, I know it hasn't been 90 days yet, but still no updates on my case. Anyone has the same issue? I'm worried that I won't get the job.

Really need your help guys! Thank you :)

My USCIS case status for my EAD was actually just updated to approved/card production yesterday morning. My NOA1 is dated 12th May, just two days before yours. Maybe yours will be soon.

Good for you you should receive your EAD soon! Was it on initial review before that? Because they didn't upload my receipt number so I'm not able to see anything yet. Did you have the biometrics too? Thank you!

Delays in EAD and GC is one of the challenges we have to face being an alien in the USA.

Sometimes I can't help but question can our respective government also implement the same rules for Americans who wanted to be a citizen and to work with our respective countries?

My EAD and GC still pending... I'm not expecting a miracle I'm tired of checking online. If it comes it comes.

Patience is a virtue but what good is virtue of you lose a job offer or lose your job because of the delay of releasing an EAD.
