I got letter to show on interview for i-485 with my wife.

There is a list with all documents that i should bring with me.

I have a question, my cosponsor live far away from me in different state and he is busy working, so i don't want to bother him to ask to send me some documents that USCIS ask. Should i ask him for him original documents like: employment letter, w-2 and birth certificate, because i already submit copies from w-2 and birth certificate. And he is forking for US Army, that's Goverment institution, so USCIS easy can check how much he is making and that he is US citizen.

And also if you have some tips for me for this interview?

Thanks a lot

~~moved to AOS from student, tourist or work visa from IR1/CR1 process and procedures as it seems OP is on that path. May be moved again depending on answer to my question~~

AOS

From which visa? So you tell us you don't make copies of what you sent? Because they basically ask for what you sent in, nothing new much. They mostly ask for hard-copy because they don't have time to cross check every detail you submitted (like how much your sponsor makes...)

You should have made a copy of the file you sent to the USCIS. If not I suggest asking the joint sponsor for a copy of his w2 and the last few months leave and earnings statements. He works for a different branch of the government. It's up to you to bring what's needed, not them to look him up.

This is not about visa, it's about Adjustment of status (AOS).

I already have a copy of his w-2 form, i'm asking should i bring to the interview original documents or it's fine with copies. And he already send me his paystub (leave and earning statement).

W2's, etc are all copies anyhow so im not sure what else you're asking. Do you need all new items of what you've already submitted? You should not.

WHERE your post goes depends on the type of visa your spouse is adjusting from. I will leave it in this forum as I would assume you'd say K1 if it was a fiancé visa.
