The Dems really didn't have anything special in Obama either, it's just that the Republican candidate was worse, both times. I can't remember the last time I voted for President without holding my nose. Kinda sux to have to vote that way all the time.

He was a better choice than either McCain or Romney. He'd have been a better choice even if he was a white Democrat outta Bahstan named Barry O'bamlahan.

The fact that he was a man of color who could win the election, tbh, was a matter of some enthusiasm for me. If I was enthusiastic about electing him the first time, that would be why. Now the conservatives are going to eat me alive over this but it had to be said

So did I. Teddy's right about Gore and Kerry. Both were simply not electable. Gore especially.

Sorry, Gore was elected, dude.

It is the truth, just sayin'

He certainly was electable, because if Florida had had ballots that made sense, and weren't faulty in other ways, then... yeah.

No shame in that, i understand it fully.

I was happy to see a person of color win the Presidency as well, even if he isn't an American.

My wife calls me "dude" when I'm apparently being a "dude"

I find "Dude" and "Hipster Doofus" to be interchangable.
