God has already given his word.

The book of Genesis tells us Apple is evil. It's the only produce evil enough to have a corporation named after it. Although with a little more charisma, broccoli probably could pull it off.

Well praise be to all a you who have Mac's before me. I have played with Numbers on a Mac briefly, and prefer the Windoze version... but I think I could get used to it. (Can't digger out how to Find/Replace portions of formulas on Numbers).

Since I can get Office for Mac for only $9.99, I'd pray to go that route.

I know Mac costs more up front, but I suspect they will last longer than a PC. Also read that Mac is spoda release new line in September. Will prolly wait. And I think the flash drives rock compared to the s.l.o.w 5400 RPM HDDs.

Anyway, back on topic... who here practices islam like Marv?

The Lord spake unto my beloved, and told him lo! Thou shalt be possessed of the spirit to buy thine sweetheart a Nexus 5, even when she doth protest and say no, the Nexus 4 is still to mine liking, even if the GPS lag is terrible at times. Satan himself was behind the Nexus 4 designers' decision to make the battery insulated. Yes, insulated. smh

Anyway, is the Creator right that the Nexus 5 is a decent phone? I've loved my Nexus 4, mostly because God speaks to me through Google Now and tracks my packages, knows where I go on specific days of the week (Monday: bar; Saturday morning: Mexican restaurant; Sunday afternoon: KBBQ followed by The Grove) and is generally creepy and reminds me He is watching me at all times. But I am hesitant to give up the Nexus 4, mostly because I still get all weird about having a man spend $$$$$$ on me. And also, there's that commandment about not coveting and sh!t.

Amen.

Buy a good Windows pc and it will cost as much as a Mac. People compare $400 Windows machines to $1500 Macs, duh, of course the Apple is better. Compares apples to Apple. You can buy a pc with SSD too. However, I do think the Apple touchpad is the best in the business. But most Apple users are sheep and are followers. You seem more of a leader to me.

True words. And thanks (I think) for seeing me not as a sheep.

One thing going that is very attractive to me is the 8-9 hours of battery life with Mac.

For verily, verily I say unto thee: "thou shalt not put a lo-bat device on any pedestal above me"...

The Macbook Airs have fantastic battery life, but the current models are getting a bit long in tooth, no Retina screens, etc. Intel's new Broadwell processors have been delayed, they will bring even further improvements in battery life. How soon do you want to purchase?

Religion. It's what keeps us all together on a daily basis. Marvin changed his for love. Admirable.

I couldn't agree more. I'll change mine too. For the right kind of money. Some religions are going to require a lot more money. Anything prohibiting coffee - I need a lot of compensation for that.

No big rush, I can be patient. September was spoda be the new lineup, but I hear Intel may cause that to be delayed.

A friend's 13" retina Macbook pro lasts 9 hours supposedly...

IMHO it all depends...

There is money. Macs are more expensive than PCs, but they are also far superior in quality, power and design.

Then there is function. What for and where do you use your computer. Is it a home computer exclusively or do you travel with it for business? Do you have a tablet as well?

Then there is size... If it is a stay home computer bigger is better. If you fly often, 13" is more than enough ('That's what she said...")

Then there is more size.... You also need to consider RAM and internal storage. Apple has gone flash with the newer machines - great feature but limiting in terms of upgrades, so you need to plan for expansion...

Then there is The Cloud - Internal storage will not matter much if you are a Cloud addict. It is great to have everything in one place. I would not recommend The Cloud if you have OCD. Too much anxiety.

Good luck!

please elaborate on exactly how Macs are superior in quality power and design

From what little I know, Mac airs can go about 9 hours on a charge, and the larger models 7-8 hours. Haven't seen a Windoze version come close to that (though they may be better now that SSDs are being used).

I have heard Mac owners using their stuff 7-10 years. A PC rarely makes it more than 3.

Not that I do a lot of graphics, but I hear Apple rocks against WinXX for that.

Boot up time for a Mac is now around 11 seconds. 2 seconds from sleep mode. My laptop is usually around 20-30 seconds from sleep, and a light meal can be prepared between power on and usable. (Not much bloat ware on mine, I stripped it when I bought it).

That's about all I know on the differences.

Oh, don't forget to go to church on Wednesday. Amen!!
