As Sandra said "Do not look back"! That is key once you're gone. Change your phone, e-mail address and any other way he could contact you and make no contact with him. Move forward and make a happy life for yourself.

Good Luck!

Hi guys, another update - I left the apartment on Monday last week and last Wednesday I left the state. I'm staying with a friend and her husband now. I'm breathing finally.

Thank you so much for your encouraging words and great advice. Will keep you updated :)

Good for you Annie, good luck!

Do not answer his emails and phone calls. Delete him,his friendd and family on your Facebook.Good luck.

Agree 100%. Once you answer the phone or email you will be drawn in back in.

Agreed, you should block his email and phone number, that way you're not even bothered! Watch out for phone numbers you don't recognize, if you don't answer his calls from his usual phone he might use other phones.

Good luck, hopefully you went far away from his reach.

His calls are not going to be a problem, the day after I left I got a text from his mom telling me she canceled my line (I was on their family plan) and telling me to leave the phone at her sister's.

I have a new phone number now :)

it's good that you're out of that situation,

but bad (for him) that he never made the first step that I wrote of back at post #2.

Build yer power, lass - I sense you will be fine along the way.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Hi Darnell, thank you for taking time to respond and for your kind words :)

Yes, it's good that I'm out. Also, yes, it's bad for him that he never made that step. However, his drinking is just one of the many issues that he has. His insults and everything else happened when he was 100% sober so even if he stopped being an alcoholic, he would still be an abuser. That's why I left...

He still emails me and I decided to leave that option open so I could be aware of what he is doing. I was scared that he'd just show up here one day if I cut all contact. Now he's saying that he's giving me another month to return and he'll then (if I don't return) remove me from his health insurance and call the immigration. I'm supposed to start working soon so one more time he is going to destroy me.

But life goes on.
