Living abroad and Divorce

All,

I am lost. I got residency from my America spouse. Our marriage did not work, and I moved back to my country, Brazil. We both want to divorce, but due to being bitter, she has dragged the process (I signed the waiver, and gave the money for court filing about 4 months ago, and she has not filed).

Due to an unfortunate loss in my family, and the need to do family inventory, I was requested my divorce documents. And since she has not filed, this family case was put on hold.

I visited the US consulate and obtained a list of attorneys that do international divorce. Yet, is that the route to take in case she drags longer?

Please, those with similar situations, share and shed some light.
