Even when gay marriage eventually does become legal, it will take years for immigration law to catch up, I'll bet.

So what to gay people do who fall in love who happen to be from different countries?

There are some countries that allow immigration of gay couples, New Zealand is one. Other than immigrating to one of those, a long distance relationship with visits would be about it.

You're assuming it will become legal.

Of course it will. It's just a matter of time.

Of course it will, silly Gary. As soon as all the naysayers die out. ;)

This made me think of a topic from awhile ago, I guess it was an article that gupt probably posted since he has posted millions of articles... :P

That liberals are having less kids and many don't want any kids. They'd rather have pets. And conservatives are having more babies than liberals. Which means, the supporters will die out sooner, not the naysayers! :D:lol: Of course kids do not always believe what their parents do, but I am sure there still is an effect.

Of course I'm half way joking...but half way serious. I think in a recent thread some of this was supported about who wants babies and who doesn't. It seems the more liberal members did not want to have kids. Maybe you should rethink that! J/K

Just because a parent believes it, doesn't mean their child will! In fact, most likely the opposite - look at Alex P. Keaton!

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5720 I found the article. The VJ search actually worked for me. haha.

Yes true the kids won't always follow what their parents do...but still it's something to look at.

Oh, the old 'we're having more babies so the liberals will be overrun' chestnut. Cute, sort of undermined by the evangelical leaders turning out to be gay (didn't seem to innoculate them), definitely undermined as people often do not follow the religious and political beliefs of their parents. If you're looking for a predictor of when gay marriage will become recognized federally, look at the demographics that support it.

Anyhow, bostonparis, I'd guess the best they can do is to try for a work visa or immigrate to a country that permits it.
