I've been waiting 10 months, I see people getting approved all the time and I just sit here and wait I've been with my fiance 27 years, a gay couple that has waited this long to finally become legal and now they make us wait even more with no explanation. I would love to have got it in 5 months. Written to my senator, still nothing. : (

Based on the progress of I-129F petitions approved at TSC as seen on the website (http://dashboard.uscis.gov/) as well as the attached image below, it seems TSC is slowing down their approvals likely as a trade off with something more "necessary" to them such as I-130s due to the media hype and news coverage.

Only 564 I-129F petitions were approved in May 2014!

We should all (petitioners from Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Jun, and Jul) come together to bring attention to this lag. I'm sure TSC is aware of the situation, but without any transparency or accountability of the situation, they will churn them out at the rate they feel like.

Yes, it may be only a "few" months delay in the grand scheme of things, but even those few months are precious with my fiance. And if you feel the same way, I think we should:

1) Write a letter and each of us send a copy to the director or other high ranking official at USCIS

2) Media attention on the subject just like how the I-130s had not too long ago

So, please let us try to do this not only for us, but those future filers as well!

DACA renewals, man. DACA renewals.

Gotta give the illegals priority, same as before.

Somebody mailed Donald Neufeld on another topic and his reply was this: I'm quoting from his post:

Dear Sir,

I assure you there is no malfeasance behind the processing time differences at our Service Centers. However, information on how to report USCIS misconduct is available here.

Our goal is to provide consistent processing times across all our facilities. However, in processing over 4 million cases annually at all four centers there are numerous factors that can impact our ability to deliver on that goal. Unfortunately, the Texas Service Center (TSC) has developed a small backlog in handling I-129F fiancé petitions. We are aware of this and are working diligently to address the delay. If the petition filed on your behalf has been pending longer than the posted TSC processing time, the petitioner may submit an e-request. Information on e-requests and other case status information is available here.

Sincerely,

Donald Neufeld

I'll get the letter in the mail tomorrow. I'd prefer to mail it because I feel like email is too easily ignored. This guy's response shows that he's not even looking at the statistics they are posting themselves. If he's going to be the director of the service centers, at least he should "direct" them. I just don't understand why so many who get government positions turn out to be so uncaring or ignorant of reality.

Yes, let's decide on:

1) Who to send it to and how to send it to them. Options so far include: Donald Neufeld (email), Leon Rodriguez (generic mail address).

2) The next draft of the letter. Is everyone happy with its format? Anything missing or needs to be improved?

Once we have these two things solved, we can finalize things and send it out. So let's work on these.

Also, check this out from Governor Perry: http://news.msn.com/us/perry-sending-national-guard-to-texas-border

As suggested earlier on in this thread, maybe we really should write a corollary letter to him also. Thoughts?

Is email or mail the better choice?

Great idea! I am up for anything as my fiance and I's petition just hit the 5 month date. We are february filers. I have contacted the Senator, congressman, but nothing really helps so I don't think this would hurt. I am continuously saying why can't they transfer the backlog to California. When I have called the USCIS they deny that california processes any faster. They told me it takes just as long there which I know is not true.

For my job, I know very well that any administrative process always get delays and for intern rules they can get more time to can cover their backlog, and believe me not matter the country the burocracy have the same ways about processing times.

So, the reality its that not matter what you do, not matter the amount the letters that you send to every employee or director of USCIS, if the procedure dont have more than 5 months still will be in the line as the rest until the backlog get sort it out, so I suggest to everyone get relax and wait your turn, focus in another stuff to get distracted from the waiting. I think that the persons that have sent their I-129F fiancé petitions since Nov and Dic 2013 have priority over the ones that have less than 2 months, but thats my opinion.

I know that its not something nice becaus im in the same boat, but we dont have another option but wait until we get in the physical mail the NOA2 or the RFE, for go forward on the procedure.

Best regards.

Yes, that's why strength in numbers is necessary. They can push any of us on the phone, but when 50, 100, or more of us write to them it will be hard to ignore. And we will turn to the media too.
