how long does the petition sit at NVC

hi guys, me again, very anxious but also excited because hopefully this week our petition will get to the NVC...i just want to know what's the approx. time for a petition to sit at the NVC before it gets sent off to embassy/consulate. That is if it doesn't go thru the AP.

It should be leaving the NVC within a week that it arrives there. Make sure you ask though for your case # and when it does leave.

A few days maybe. They just assign the case # and send it onto the appropriate consulate.

Took 2 weeks from the time NVC received my case to when they forwarded to my consulate.

We have been waiting to hear from NVC for 5 weeks since our NOA2 approval! Don't know what to do! Called and they just said it was having "additional processing", but nothing about what that means and could not say how long it will take! Any ideas?

K1's go through NVC pretty fast, mine was there 4 days before it was sent off to the consulate in Sydney.

I hope that yours goes fast too! You deserve it after the mess you experienced!

didn't take 1 month to receive the packet 3 after NOA2.

Mine took 9 days to get there from TSC then spent 5 days there before being sent to the Consulate.
