I'd like to invite my father to attend my graduation ceremony next year. I know how to do the paperwork for him, but I am afraid of the probability he will pass the interview because I used to come here under J1 visa 3 times before I met my husband and settled down here with AOS. I'd like to ask you guys here for your thoughts on my father's chance. My father doesn't speak English at all; he just wants to visit US for only 1 week for my graduation ceremony because I am the first generation college student and because it has been his wish for me to finish college; thus, his presence at the ceremony would mean a lot to us. I'll pay for his expenses since he is not a rich man there -- so he doesn't really have lots of properties or money to prove. Also, I am currently an LPR, but I am eligible for citizenship now. I'd love to hear any advice that would be helpful for his case. Thank you

Suggest he applied for a B2 Visa assuming he is not eligible to use the VWP or is Canadian.

Usually you are not asked for any supporting documents. I would take details of your graduation, no harm, just in case.
