I will be sponsoring my 2 brothers and 2 sisters and their familes for a total of 12 people. Since the income of myself alone does not meet the minimum requirement, I will be using another household member's income (he will fill out I864A). My question is since I am wanting to bring 4 families I have to filll out 4 different I864's and I864A's... can me and my household member sponsor all 4 families (which contains a total of 12 people)? My concern is that between me and one of my family member our total income is $65,000, enough for each separate I864, but since I will be sponsoring 12 people total, wouldn't they want me to show more income, and hence I would have to look for a Join-Sponsor?

Here is my family and household stats:

For 1st I864, household size willl be 6, (Me, my husband, my son, my daughter in-law, principle beneficiary(Sister), 2nd beneficiary(sister's husband))
For 2nd I864, household size will be 6, (Me, my husband, my son, my daughter in-law, principle beneficiary (Sister), 2nd beneficiary (sister's husband))
For 3rd I864, household size will be 8, (Me, my husband, my son, my daughter in-law, principle beneficiary (brohter) 2nd beneficiary(brother's wife), 3rd benficiary(their first child), 4th beneficiary(their 2nd child))
For 4th I864, household size will be 8, (Me, my husband, my son, my daughter in-law, principle beneficiary (brohter) 2nd beneficiary(brother's wife), 3rd benficiary(their first child), 4th beneficiary(their 2nd child))

You would need at a minimum $80,500 in income, but you have about 12 years (at least) to come up with it, so you should be good.

Thanks for the reply. Could you clarify what you mean by i have 12 years to come up with 80K? Can i go ahead and apply for my 4 families with 2 peoples income roughly at 65K or would i need to look for some Joint Sponsors? Thanks in advance!

To sponsor 12 people in a household that already has two, you have to make enough money according to the poverty guidelines to support 14 people. That amount is roughly $80,500 for 2014. You need to be able to support all of them + anyone else living with you and they will be your responsibility financially until they naturalize, give up their green cards or work for 10 years.

USCIS is currently processing petitions for siblings filed in 2002, so you have about a 12-year wait to bring your siblings to the US.

hi

you also will file one per person so it's not 4 but 12, you pay one per family group, but the $230 for the ds260 is individual plus the i864 is individual and their children will come depending on their ages, since it takes around 12 years

I filed for my 4 siblings in 2002..:) but like i said my household size is dependant on each i864 i fill out. So for the 1st family which is 2 in size my household size would be 6... (my current household size is 4). For the next family im applying for its size is 4 so my family size would be 8.. etc my concern is should i seek joint sponsors? Also where are you getting this 80K figure? For examle for the first i864 application my household size comes out to 6 and according to i864p i need to have at least 40K.

No, you don't understand. Your household size doesn't change depending on which I-864 you're filing out. If you're sponsoring 12 people in a household of 2, your household is 14 for every single application and you need at least $80,500.

O my.. i didn't know that. So that means i need to file 12 i864, 12 i864a, and 12 joint sponsor(which means 12 more i864). Correct?

I864a will be filed by my son. Since our income is already 65K, we neeed to show another 15K only (according to i864P as well as the other person above, for a household of 14 we will need to show 80K)... can i just have 1 sponsor fill out i864 for all 12 people?

I meant to say can i just have 1 joint sponsor fill out 12 i864?

Pretty sure it is only one I-864 per petition but you have to include all the people you have previously sponsored (unless they meet the requirements to release you from the I-864 obligations) as well as all the people you are currently sponsoring.

There's that too... if you already sponsored someone else and they haven't naturalized or worked 10 years and are still in the US as LPRs, you have to include them too even if they don't live with you.

hi

but remember the i864 will be only sent in 12 years, many things can happen in 12 years

your son might not live with you. he can marry and have kids, you might be retired. who knows? you are thinking of right now. the i864 isn't sent now, only the i130
