DCF Manila filing

Hi my husband and i just got married last july 18. we want to apply for DCF and i have a couple of questions

1) i have a daughter and my husband is not the biological father she is 7 years old, we want to take her with us. what do we need to apply for and what requirements should we bring? cause i was told that its easier if we apply with her even if we dont plan to leave with her yet not until after a year because she is still in school. we plan to get her march 2015 after her school ends. so she will be left with my mom. my daughter is using my maiden name so the father was never known.

2) should i have my passport changed to my married name before i apply for dcf? i think i need to right?

3) is 13a visa a requirement or Balikbayan visa is ok? my husband who is the USC as a bank account here, drivers license, telephone and internet bill under his name he also finished an IT course here at Informatics but they did not ask for a student visa will the immigration look into that? he was able to graduate without the school asking for a student visa.

my husband is think to apply for a DUAL CITIZENSHIP will it have any problem when we apply for DCF? because we already have his filipino birth certificate since his mom was a filipina wen he was born so he is really eligible for a dual citizenship. only concern is if it wil have a problem applying

Hi i cant answer most of your queries but i suggest posting this topic on the philippine subforum (main page,bottom part).We also filed for dcf and we made an appointment.The link is somewhere saying u need to have an appointment.Bills under his name,bank accounts,pictures,properties,lease are okay.They only got 3 bills from us plus all the pictures esp the wedding photos and health,life insurance policies

Btw up to you if you want to have your name changed.I did,but before you can get your passport,you have to go to CFO first for the guidance and counselling seminar plus the nso copy of your marriage certificate.I suggest you have go to your local civil registrar and request for advance endorsement so you can have your nso copy in two months or less

your daughter will require a seprate i-130 and will be processed as her own case. you will need the documents required for a stepdaughter as listed in the instructions for the I-130. the visa will only be good for 6 months from the medical, so you would want to file the I-130s at the same time, then stall the daughters case, as you have a year from the time you are eligible to apply for a visa to do so.

you dont have to change your passport, but if you want your greencard in your married name, you need to. all your documents will match that name. as mentioned, you will need to attend cfo to get the guidence and counceling certificate before you can get your passport updated.

a visitors visa is ok, or bb stamp, as long as you can show that he has been here legaly for 6 months. no need for a 13a.

the dual citizenship thing wont have any effect on your dcf filing, if he wants to, go for it.

the embassy website says that an appointment is required to file, no walk-ins allowed.

our timeline

june 20- got married

july 14 - dcf filed

july 21 - approved

july 28- ds 260 submitted

we actually don't know what next. do we schedule for an interview or they schedule us? reply will be much appreciated. thanks

You do the scheduling online. Or call, but its easier online. Make an account at ustraveldocs.com.

In the email they sent for packet 3, there were instructions on what you need to have ready for the interview. There was also an address to email once you complete the ds260. But if you email them, they'll just tell you to make your appointment, so that's the next step.
