Interview experience (Seoul) I finally have visa in my hand =)

Congratulations! I love South Korea and I miss Korean food very much=)) we used to work there in Masan City it is South of Seoul and Tongyeong City and btw Tongyeong food is excellent compare to some other city yum yum. I have my IR-1 visa in hand goodluck to us in the USA.

We are with you on that! We always went to Gangnam and everywhere to go eat! Or Youido and went around the lake area and eat!

First of all, thank you all members here for sharing experiences and comments! My whole process of getting visa was quite smooth =) I am very happy that I have my visa with me now. phew.... it's over.

My interview is held on July 15th in Seoul US embassy. My time for interview was around 8 am, but I got there around 730 and I was the first person who got into the building. They took my cellphone away and gave a slip, and ...I went to upstairs and gave my appointment confirmation paper to a lady who works there, and she asked me to go to 3rd floor.

I waited.... for about 3 hours to be called...

They took all my documents...

Waiting was quite long....

and finally my name was called again and I was asked only....two questions... How did you meet him? when did you meet him... only those two questions. ^^... It only took two minute and told me I am approved with my visa. =)

PS. I saw many other people having difficult time because they forgot to bring certain documents for the visa interview. make sure to have enough evidence for ongoing relationship, pictures, messages shared, emails, phone call record, etc.

Make sure to get all certificate translated into English, and be there earlier than your actual appointment hour.

Scheduling your interview early in the morning and getting there early will allow you to save time! =)

Fiance been calling me for about 1-2 hours everyday. Wish i could print out phone calls but i am using prepaid so its impossible to get one. So I hope that is satisfying enough?

WOW That is awesome!!! I've never visited South Korea for last eleven years and everything has been changed!!!!! =)

Korea was no longer like my country. anyways.. love food here =) Since I am from California, I just miss weather in LA....

but my fiance is in Cincy, Ohio..

That will be enough. but always more is better for the interview I had my old passport with all previous USA visa ( I've visited the US over 10 times and have lived there for over 11 years), 3 colored 2x2 visa photos, Affidavit of support and his taxes, Intent to marry with your and his actual signatures, all the proofs (evidence) for ongoing relationship, receipt for visa fee, interview appointment confirmation paper, sealed medical exam results (DO NOT OPEN IT), and if you are korean, you would be asked to bring basic certificate, marriage certificate ( EVEN YOU HAVE NEVER MARRIED BEFORE STILL NEEDED), police certificate, birth certificate ( all of these need to be translated into English and I did it by myself)

you will be asked to bring DS-160 Online Nonimmigrant visa Application. IT is very important. there is like a number for each person, and they need to have it.

Bring your valid passport, I also had all the copies of NOA1and NOA2 but they didn't really need them.

As for the evidence of ongoing relationship, I had foreign travel receipts, emails with confirmation of airline tickets, photos together, forms and cover letter from 1-129F, lots of postcards from him, emails, and chat logs (kakaotalk, skype, facebook, etc).

For Affidavit of support, you need form 1-134, form 1040 federal income tax return with most recent year, certification of employment, and three months worth of pay slips. =)

Yes i would even travel 2 hours to Seoul for drinking deal with my buddy lol. But responsibly of course!
