I'm going to be arriving in San Diego this week on my K-1 visa and I would love to make some new friends, preferably people who have undergone the immigration process like we have -- it's nice to meet others who are experiencing the same thing! I'll be out in East County, but it's not a long drive to get downtown!

Also, how did you guys feel when the big move finally came up? I'm incredibly excited and stressed, and also a little worried about how homesick I might be, as well as how everyone here is going to be when I'm gone. We lost my mother unexpectedly two months ago, and so the whole family is a little shaken. I decided to carry on with my plans because my mother would have wanted it that way, but now I'm worried about leaving my father and my three cats behind -- they've never been alone and now that my sister and I have both moved out, I'm worried about them.

Im so sorry about your mom. I lose my mom a few years ago and its such a tough thing to go through.

San Diego is near an international border and a large navel base. There will be plenty of foreign spouses.

My love and I have not officially started the process yet but I should be moving to the San Diego area once we get it all done. Making friends there I think will be one of the hardest parts,
