Hello Everyone. I am so confused on the forms that need to be filled out. I had some free time this weekend, so I thought I would be proactive and fill out future forms.

Currently, my case has left TSC and is on the way to NVC.

1. May I get some direction from others as to what I will need to do once it arrives at NVC?

2. What forms will I need to fill out along the journey? I was filling out I-864 and I read you do not need it for K1. Is this true?

Thanks, but that has a lot of legacy forms and processes. I am trying to get advice from people who have been through this recently.

After a week that it has left TSC, then contact the NVC. Everytime you call them ask for the Case #. Once you are able to get the Case # than that means they have received it. Also make sure you ask when it has left the NVC. To check the status of your petition going from the NVC to the Embassy, check on the CEAC website with the case number they gave you. "AT NVC" for it has not left yet. "IN TRANSIT" speaks for itself. "READY" meaning it has arrived at the Embassy. Once you get the "READY" on the website than call the Embassy to make sure they received it in hardcopy form.

--- While waiting for the petition to arrive at the Embassy, gather your paperwork after the NOA2 and send to your fiance. It is not the I-864 (this is for later in the states). The form you will need to fill out is the I-134 for K1.

You are now ready to pay for the VISA and fill out the DS160 and schedule the Interview.

Thanks, but that has a lot of legacy forms and processes. I am trying to get advice from people who have been through this recently.

The flowchart is a pretty accurate representation of the steps involved. The links in the flowchart go to the K1 visa Guide which is up to date. I believe that guide was updated as recently as last year.

I would suggest that if you only wanted comments from people who recently ran the K1 gauntlet, you would do well to state as such in your initial posting.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

To add, you are now entering the consular portion of the process. What exactly you do will be slightly different, according to your local consulate. You don't do anything at NVC.

K-1's do I-134 for the affidavit of support.

I am sorry, I thought it was legacy because I saw so many other forms that needed to be filled out such as the DS 156, DS230. I thought those were not needed anymore.

So to close this thread out, I am just confirming that the only forms left are the DS 160 and I-134 for my fiance's POE, right?

The only documents you will need to provide your Fiance will be your I-134 along with any proof for that (tax returns, pay stubs, self employment, letter from employer, etc.). He will be responsible for filling out his DS-160 (this is usually online and done prior to the interview.) I do not know which embassy he will be assigned to, possibly Mumbai? If so there is a bit more information from their site on the K-1:

Mumbai Embassy: http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/k-1visa.html

Mumbai checklist of documents for DS-160: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/mumbai/395145/pereirals/K1-DS160instruction.pdf

Mumbai checklist for interview: http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/ivinterview_preparation.html

Mumbai checklist for medical: http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/medical_examination2.html

Each embassy is different and can require different things but the overall procedure seems to be the same. You would also want to send your fiance a copy of the I-129F packet you originally submitted, along with copies of your NOA1 and NO2 hardcopy. Include items pertaining to the ongoing relationship (more pictures, chat logs, emails, Skype logs, phone bills, plane tickets.... etc). There's other links I listed above from the Mumbai embassy. If he did NOT choose Mumbai (New Delhi or elsewhere) do a simple Google search 'K-1 US embassy <name of location>, India' or something similar. You will find a website for the embassy with it's own list of requirements.

Looking through my fiance's requirements for London, almost all are the same as Mumbai outside of one or two specific to the UK.

Good luck! I'm going crazy with the prep work too - I already made myself my own exhaustive checklist in Word with links and things.. so I know how you feel!
