AOS denied. Failure to submit I-693. Lost medical packet. Now what?

We went through the K-1 process just fine.

But during the AOS, we received an RFE for an I-693 as the medical packet aka brown envelope went missing.

Instead of being a good doobie and getting the I-693 completed, we foolishly rebelled against the incompetence and just submitted vaccination records...thereby getting DENIED.

They are asking my husband to "depart as soon as possible," canceling his EAD, terminating his AP.

What are the next steps we SHOULD take?

-immigration lawyer?

-I-290B self-file, motion to re-open

-re-file I-485 AOS

-get wasted and lose it

A motion to re-open / reconsider is pointless because you were properly denied, in that you failed to respond to the RFE with the requested documents.

Either make plans to depart the US, or re-file the I-485, this time with a properly-completed I-693. If you do neither of these, expect to be placed in removal proceedings in a handful of weeks.

Day 400 (2/7/19) Denial revoked; N-400 approved; oath ceremony set for 2/14/19

Day 407 (2/14/19) Oath ceremony in Dallas, TX

Refile I-485, and get a new full medical. Sorry.

8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!
