Hi Everyone,

Well, a MONTH ago almost I got the first NOA2 for my Wife as the "Principal Applicant" and we completed the DS-261 online with me as her agent, and sent it off, then I got the AOS invoice, paid it and sent off the AOS packet over a week ago. In the DS-261 we included my Stepdaughter as part of the household of course, and that is reflected in the AOS packet as well.

Now, just today I got another NOA2 for my Stepdaughter specifically, my Wife is not mentioned in the letter and the NOA2 has a different case number.

It wants me to go through the whole process again including the DS261, AOS, AOS fee etcetera!

Is this normal? My only thought is that since my Stepdaughter just turned 18 a couple of days ago maybe the NVC computers flagged it, but ??

Should I complete this procedure again for her specifically since she is ALREADY included on my Wifes' DS261 and the AOS packet I sent in?

Money is not a problem but I worry about having duplicate applications in the system!

Tx!

Each petition requires its own case number, AOS, and IV package. You should have waited for the AOS until your step daughter had her case number as you now may be required to pay the fee twice. However I suggest contacting the NVC on Monday to see if you can join this case with your wife's so they can can eventually interview together (and hopefully save you that AOS fee ;)).

Thank You!

I guess what threw me was that when my Wife received hers in late June she was referred to as the "Principal Applicant", and all of our communications with the NVC (DS261, AOS) have listed my Stepdaughter as part of the household.

I'll call on Monday.

She is the principal applicant on her visa and the stepdaughter is the principal applicant on hers. This visa category doesn't allow for derivatives like other categories, but they use the same forms. Your stepdaughter will have her own set of fees as well.
