Hello Everyone,

We had our AOS interview yesterday 07/17/2014. It was fast as it didn't take much time like we expected, There was no much questions like we expected too. We arrived at the USCIS Baltimore field office 1 hour before time, Waited for our lawyer and eventually he came and we were all set and ready for us to be called.

After about 1 hour 15 minutes we were called and then the lady led us inside and to her office, She seemed nice and proceeded with the normal proceedings. We swore the oath and then the first thing she asked was if we were from a particular law firm, the lawyer answered yes and she said okay good! After which she asked what my mother and father's name were and i answered accordingly. She also asked what my address is and i gladly told her. She asked us if any of us has been married before and i answered yes but my wife has never been married before and also i have a few months old baby which my wife is aware of and we told the IO... She also asked how and when we met so we told her we met on the dating site in 2012 and met physically in november 2013 then decided to get married in February 2014 Then she said okay fine but don't you guys think you need more time before you married each other and while saying that she smiled and then gave me and my wife a white paper stating that your case is under review and you should allow about 120 days for a notice to be sent to you.

Please i need to know what this means and also if it is a good sign or positive response. I am worried and my wife is super worried that the Interviewing officer didn't ask her one single question. Please i need your idea and advice on this as it will be dully appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

Bless..

Philip!!!

Any more details on how the interview went? Did you come with a k1-visa? Or what kind of visa?

Well, now you should wait. They didn't approve on the spot probably because Nigeria is a country with high incidence of marriage fraud (in their terms).

Don't forget to let us know how that ended.

Good luck

Hey Phil, have you received your green card yet? I'm a March 2014 filer and went for my interview on July 24th at the field office in Seattle. which went well after which the officer said green card should be in the mail 2-3 weeks but nothing up till now. I contacted my congressman for enquiry and got response from her office that my case is going through background check which is aabsolutely demoralizing. I don't if this has to be cos' of country of origin one comes from as i'm from Nigeria as you my brother Philip. I don't even have the morale strength to work even as i must. The wait is killing.
