Documents used to establish citizenship

Step 11 of this checklist indicates the following:

11. Copy of the Birth certificate (front and back) for the US Citizen or a copy of ALL pages of the US Citizen's passport issued with a validity of at least 5 years or a copy of the US Citizen's naturalization certificate (front and back). This is used to establish citizenship.

I have my certificate of Naturalization but the back part is blank. According to the instruction above, I should submit front and back. This doesn't make sense.

Any help would be appreciated.

Send a copy of the front of the document with an annotation to the effect the back is blank.

Welcome to the forum.

As you will soon learn in your latest dealings with USCIS, their instructions/requirements often do not make any sense. Perhaps they are not looking for something on the back of your certificate, but rather the absence of something on the back of your certificate. To avoid issues, such as, a possible RFE, I suggest that you follow their instructions.

Copy the back too and put 'Back of Naturalization Certificate' on it if it comes out completely blank.
