So, I entered as K1. The visa expired on July 9th. We were married on June 17th. We mailed out the package on July 1st and they received it on the 3rd,

BUT

We haven't heard anything from USCIS, and now it is the 18th. Am I considered out of status? Will I get in potential troubles? And if so, how do I prove that I didn't do anything wrong?

Thanks!

I'm a bit frustrated now, it's been 2 weeks since they received my package.

No you are fine you filed your AOS. Tell who you did nothing wrong. It takes usually 30 days to get your I-797 notice (NOA1) from USCIS. You should get EAD within 90 days (You did file that also).

But you are okay. You just file give them a few days. Congratulations by the way.

Thank you for your quick response. I got my K1 NOA1 withing 5 days and I saw other people got their AOS NOA1 faster than me and it got me worried.

I did file EAD and AP with my I485. Nobody was putting me in trouble, I guess the waiting time must have made me super paranoid, lol.

It can take some time to receive the receipt notice when filing for AOS. When you file for AOS, you are placed in a new period of authorized stay. As soon as you get the receipt notice, you will have the proof that you are an adjustment applicant.

I would say the period of authorized stay would begin on the date they receive/accept it, which is the date on the receipt notice.
