I finally had my AOS interview today on San Bernardino. My appointment time was for 1pm, We arrived at 12.30 , cleared security and was directed to the second floor. There was only one other person in the waiting area at this time.

The wife and I began chatting and after about 10 mins a female officer opened one of the doors and called us in, she was very professional and also had a friendly approach. We followed her to her office where she asked us to sit, she then asked for our id's . I gave her my CA ID , EAD , expired passport and current new passport.

She then asked us to stand and take the oath, after that we sat and she asked if I had the original marriage certificate. I gave it to her for her review, she saw that we have been married for almost 7 years and asked why I didn't adjust earlier. I replied with when we were first married we couldn't afford it, by the time we saved up the cash a policy change had been made to people like me who had entered on the VWP and got married after the 90 days, I said that I had read that people were being outright denied due to overstay and in some cases arrested at the interview. She nodded and agreed, I then told her that once we saw the new policy memorandum which was released in November clarifying How USCIS would treat VWP overstay's we jumped right on it.

She then asked about how we met and reviewed my I-130 evidence, then moved swiftly to the I-485 yes no questions. She had several laughs with us as we went the process, she looked at me and smiled and told me congratulations , printed out my approval notice for my 10 year card. We were done by 1.05 pm, by 1.30pm I received a text/email for card document/production , at 4.39pm I received the texts / emails for I-130 approval and I-485 welcome notice sent

I had a very positive experience, the key really is to be completely honest at all times....

Thank you Visa Journey for all of your advice and support

Just to add, I never had any RFE's in the whole process and did not use a attorney.

Glory to god
