Dear all VJs,

Our interview is on Jan 29, 9 days if count down. The interview letter said that interview will be on 10am, then what time she should present at the consulate? what is the opening hour of that office?

She will come there alone and the package 4 says she is not allowed to bring her cellphone? Is there any place to hold that stuffs infront of consulate?

Thanks for any advice

Kimi

My (now) wife's appointment time was also at 10 AM. We went to the consulate around 6:50 AM and waiting in the waiting room off to the side. Then at 7:30 (I think) they start letting people into the consulate. I was not allow at this point so I just went to have some breakfast and then came back around 9 and waited outside until the ordeal was over. No, you can't bring a cell phone.

My wife's appointment was at 10:00am when she had her interview and she arrived at the Consulate at 7:00am.

Best of luck to you both!

Do you have the American citizenship yet? Last time, my fiance (David) can go into the US Consulate by showing his passport to the Security Guard. You cannot go in to the Interview Room, but you can come in the US Consulate if you have the American citizenship.

Yes, I'm American. Yes, of course I can go into the consulate. No, Americans cannot go to the interview.

My fiance goes by the consulate everyday when she goes to work and she notices a line waiting outside there but not so long. So knowing all the input from here, she is planning to arrive there between 8:00 and 8:30am for her 10:00am interview. Let's see if it would be enough for her soon. It will happen in about 6 hours from now.

The line isn't long outside because the waiting room is off to the side of the consulate and they only let 10 people out at a time from the waiting room. When we went there at 6 :50 am, there were already about 100 people in line (that included students, as well, in a different line). Good luck.

So if you interview is at say 9am...and you get there at 8am. Do you still have to wait in line to get in for your interview? It sounds like a first come first serve basis. Correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, you are correct, Lurker: first come first serve. My time is 8:00AM. So, I have to come there at 6:00 to 6:30AM.

Then what is the point in Appointment times if "First come first serve"???

I guess that the Appointment time is the time we have to be present inside the Consulate. That's why I said I have to go early to queue and to come inside on time.
