Heart Condition and Medical

I have my medical this September.

Since 2008, I have had a heart condition. It's pretty benign, it's an arrhythmia. More trouble than a murmur, but not going to kill me.

I've had 2 surgeries for it and it is now well-managed with lifestyle and medication. It is unlikely to debilitate me or kill me or anything like that. This is not heart disease, and not something like high cholesterol.

I have an appointment with my specialist, where I'll request a letter to this effect, but I'm also wondering if I should bring other copies of my medical records. I also have some letters from doctors at the Mayo Clinic, etc. Does anyone have experience going through medical with an arrhythmia or something similar?

No personal experience, but I don;t think it'll be a major issue. They may want evidence your future spouse has medical insurance that will cover you even with this condition/ that you have looked into how to pay for treatment.

It is not a "Type A" condition, that is one of public health significance. But the doctor will see the scar from the surgery, so you need to explain to him what happened.
