I'm really devasteted. But i really wanted to share that with u guys so can let me know.

Today i had my interview at the embassy. The whole process wasn't so smooth as i thought. I found it really hard.

I really dont know whats the problem but they treated me like me and my fiance are some criminals or something.

Probably they dont like that im with a black guy either.

They ask me few things about me and my fiance like how did we met how long we ve been together i told them that i lived with him for 3 months and suddenly the lady was like are 3 months enough to take a decision and be with someone? Im with my fiance since January 8 2013 we lived together June 8-august 26 2013.

Then they started to ask me everything u can imagine about my brother that he lives in the us. My brother got in the usa and got married with his first love that knew since he got a kid.after 5 years things didnt work out and they divorced,

Probably they believe my relationship with my fiance is not real. That I'm planning to move there get married and divorced. Great!! Sound like a great plan, but not for me that i love my fiance and we ve been through 11 hard months waiting for the k1 so we can get marry.

Also my fiance s family lives in md as my brother, so what the problem? They were rude to me like oh what a couinsidence huh? They both live on the same state, like when i met dana i knew that my fiance s family lives there. Wooow!!! I dont know what to say,

They didnt like that my brother and my fiance met after few months after i was being with my fiance either. My fiance last year that he visited his family in md he went to find my brother and go out for lunch and get to know each other. Is that a crime? I got so happy that my fiance and my brother were together,

A week ago my fiance was at md again and he went for lunch with my brother. Is that a crime again? We are a family... Thats how we are. For theme thats suspicious, at the end they ll tell me that they are afraid that my fiance will have a relationship with my brother, Jesus.

At the end they asked me to email them with my brother s address and my fiance s brother address so they can see where they live exactly.

They kept my passport. But i never want to go back to this place again, even from outside, they supposed to treat us up with respect and every case as unique. They were all the opposite :(

Don't make them be a winner by let you down. They kept your passport. That's a good sign. After you have received the visa, fly to the US, and filed complaint how they treated you badly at your interview.

I can sympathize with your experience, but since people around the world

do all sorts of things to come to US, I suppose sometimes these folks can

overreact and you were the unfortunate victim.

This is the exact reason, I have been preparing my fiancee for the worst possible questions,

and yet to remain calm and sincere, and simply cooperate with them even on tough questions

and accept that they are simply doing their job (though in rude manner sometimes)

because...

our ultimate mission is to get her to US so that we can get married.

Look on the bright side, you didn't get rejected despite all that scrutiny,

so simply cooperate with them, and let them feel like kings and queens

because your ultimate goal is not to seek nice treatment from them

but for you to get the visa and make it to US.

Best wishes...

I cant believe this. I thought they were doing this only in high fraud countries. In Greece!?? Vauwww

Me and my fiance are in sock right now. We dont know whats going on. Even if ppl all over the world do things like this they say that they treat each other as unique and with respect. :( i ve been in hell all those months. I left my job and after i came back on my home coutry my father kicked me out the house cause im with a non greek and a specially with a black person. He doesn't talk to me. In the begining he was saying he ll kill me or whatever. I live with my mother and my step father, they make my life a hell cause i have a lot of problems with my step father. I'm not able to find a job even part time to support myself right now.

I dont know what to feel... I start to realize what happend and I'm getting in more sock than before... Let's say my fiance will come in greece, what is he going to do there with the crisis? How we ll live? And how they will accept him on the society when we even have a nazi political party on the 3rd place. Ppl here are super racists. And i wont let anyone to say a *** about my man. I ll kick their ***

I didn't have an easy interview either - despite what I thought was a straightforward case. Albeit, I was approved and had my visa in-hand within a week of the interview.

As the others have said, your goal is to get to the US and be with your fiance.

And yes, they kept your passport, so they just need that extra bit of information and then you should be approved. Swallow your pride. Email the information. Then wait for the CEAC status changes. Once you have your visa in hand, everything else is just gravy.

I'm sorry you had to go through this.

I didn't know you had such a close relative in the US. If I knew, I would have warned you. They asked me if I had any relatives in the country, too, but I only have 2 second cousins in California, 3000 miles away from where I am.

I'm sure you feel disappointed and having been wronged, but, on the other hand, the consular officers have to do their job. No matter we like it or not, we are the ones that have to prove that "we are not an elephant"!

Did you send them the information they asked for? I think they were just looking to see your reactions. The fact that they kept your passport is very important. Send them the info they need and be patient. They'll update the CEAC status to AP, but this is normal. Then it will go to READY and then AP again, before they let you know that they need you to pick up your passport/visa and envelope.

As other members have already told you, once you get your visa in hand, all these will be forgotten. Immigrating (for whatever reason) is a hard process from many different aspects. You HAVE to be strong, if you want this to work out with your man...

By sending the information, you are one step closer to being with your fiance. I know it was deeply upsetting to be questioned in a way that you're not accustomed to, but this stage is all about checking/verifying your background and information. Usually, for low fraud countries like Greece, it's just a tickbox exercise to make sure that everything matches up. In high fraud countries, beneficiaries are scrutinised a lot more closely and the interview seems more like an interrogation than an informal chat.

You might have been unlucky and caught the interviewer on a bad day or caught a bad interviewer. Unfortunately, it is what it is. The main thing is that they didn't deny you, they just requested more information before they could approve your visa. To reiterate, keeping your passport is a good sign, because it suggests that they are close to an approval but are just missing that last bit of information.

You've done your bit. Find a way to forget about this for a day or two. Then take a deep breath and check your CEAC status/email.
