You don't need to renew your passport until 6 months to its expiration date, which is normally 5 years from when you applied for it. But you have the option to renew it in your married name [once you're married] through any PH consulate in US.

Civil wedding in US after POE, yes.

But civil wedding in PH before you leave for US, NO.

Most folks do a civil wedding too. It's very common in US, so nothing for you to worry about!

If you don't plan on using your married name in your future passport, then you should renew it now while in PH. It takes about 6 weeks (and >2x the price) to renew a passport with the PH consulates in the US. If you plan on using the married name, then I would follow what sweetcakes suggested and do it after.

You passport is almost new? At only 7 months old I don't see any reason to renew it as it has years of validity left.

Married is married, civil or church... do whichever you like. We did a civil wedding.

The requirement is the passport must have 6 months or more of validity.

b. PASSPORT. You must have a passport valid for at least six (6) months. If you do not have one, you
should apply in person at the Department of Foreign Affairs - Office of Consular Affairs (DFA-OCA),
Aseana Business Park, Bradco Avenue corner Macapagal Boulevard, Paranaque City
