USCIS My Case Status page - how fast are text & email notifications?

I've signed up for the My Case Status page on USCIS' website and added all three of my wife's receipt numbers. We enabled text messages and email for status updates, but I still check daily to see if there has been any progress.

For those who also use this feature, do you get updates immediately or do they sometimes lag by a few days? Thanks!

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

the updates are kinda bad...my I-130 never appeared on the tracking website until more than 4 months after i submitted it, and it only got triggered because i had a change of address. if you thought USPS tracking was bad, USCIS takes "bad" to a whole new level.

The e-notification service isn't that great. When applying for my K-1 visa we didn't get any texts/emails. When applying for AOS we got the NOA1s and then got the texts/emails a week later.

When there is any update, the system does send out the e-notifications automatically. However, the "updating process" itself is notoriously unreliable. As with some folks here, my AOS jumped from acceptance to card production and never went to initial review and testing/interview. If you have signed up for case updates, you can just give it a wait.

When you have a chance, :time: , as it helps everyone using the forum.

So far my fiance and I have had two adjustments to our case. We clipped the form to our I-129F petition. I received a text and email the day our NOA1 was received (only a few days after we sent it) and the day his Alien # was changed I received both a text and email...By that point I had signed up for case status updates on the website. I signed up prior to the NOA1 hard copy so I just had to enter the receipt number to my portfolio. For us so far it's been right on track.

  • 2 weeks later...

My wife's priority date is in early January of 2014, and I signed up for the notifications in late March. By that time she had already received her EAD (work permit). Now that it's early August, the first and only notification I've gotten since signing up has been for a change of address text/email that we got yesterday.

  • 1 month later...

We recently received an interview notice. The letter itself is dated September 30th, the website updated on October 2nd and I instantly received an email notification that morning, and I never received the text message notification.

w/ all my experience, I only get text/emails when they update or touch my application or when they order for card productions. just wait for processing time and when it's time for update, you get text/email right away.
