Good evening everyone.

So me and spouse (I am Italian she is American) are in the process for the adjustment of status from our Fiancee Visa (K1). I received already my employment authorization and with it, a Notice of Potential Interview Waiver Case. This was back in April 22, 2014. Today, July 16th 2014 I received a REQUEST FOR EVIDENCE... -.-!!!!!! Did not they get everything already? Well.. seems like they did not...

So they gave me 84 days from when the RFE was sent that is July 11th, 2014.

The paper says:

Within this period you may:

1- Submit all the evidence requested;

2- Submit some or none of the evidence requested and ask for a decision based on the record; or

3- Withdraw the application or petition

Please comply with the below checked instructions:

- Please provide a legible photocopy of your birth certificate in YOUR language. With translation.

- Submit the original medical exam (form I 693) form from a CIS Certified Civil Surgeon. This document must be in a sealed envelope from the doctor. Examination must include tuberculosis screening results.

So I am okay to send the birth certificate with the translation (that I have already sent before....... .... ...... ) but I thought the medical exams I did in Italy allowed me not to go to a CIS ...

What should we do?

How much does the CIS for the I693 cost?

Thank you so much..

This thing is taking forever even if we have all the documents .. or at least we thought we did!

Sometimes they lose the medical forms from the K-2 exam and ask for a new one and the I-693. They did not ask for just the vaccinations. They specifically state a medical exam and that it must include a TB screening. It sounds like they do not have your medical exam documents in your case file.

Call around for the cheapest prices from a civil surgeon. You may be able to find one that will do it for around $150-$200. Take a copy of your DS-3025 to have your vaccinations transcribed onto the I-693 too.

I agree. They make you get a new exam because they lose your documents. The others this has happened to have felt exactly the same way. They know you have to get it done and pay for it again, or get denied.

Those prices are not too bad for the exam really. Some try and charge hundreds more than that. They don't regulate how much civil surgeons can charge either, which I think is another BS huge mistake.
