There is the usual level of hypocrisy involved, I think it was the Maryland governor who is a big supporter of what I will for shorthand call the open border persuasion who was against a facility in his State.

It would be nice to see this Politicians in favour saying how many their States will take.

Remember this is just the beginning so percentage would be more helpful.

Somebody here on VJ did post that in the 3000 counties of the United states over half the population lives in only 146. Sooooooooo, plenty of room (except California for some reason).

 hilarious. many people that claim to be atheist, constantly rail against the church, and screech about keeping religion out of the law. now want to praise the pope for his humanitarian comments (which I agree with. AFTER THE BORDER IS SECURED) & ask what Jesus or God would do.

I'm just trying to understand the rational man. A Christian should put helping those in need above all else. Feel free to explain it to me.

Anyway, whats wrong with giving support to someone of faith, who supports a humanitarian resolution. I am just waiting for the church to put its money where the popes mouth is.

You on the other hand appear to only have a finite amount of christian charity.

"AFTER THE BORDER IS SECURED" hmmmmmm. indeed.

What is the Christian thing to do when thousands of malnourished/orphans show up at the Southern border? This is what I want to know.

Orphans?

According to the leader of the church:

"This humanitarian emergency requires, as a first urgent measure, these children be welcomed and protected. These measures, however, will not be sufficient, unless they are accompanied by policies that inform people about the dangers of such a journey and, above all, that promote development in their countries of origin."
