You were sent to California (CSC)? Usually this only happened when the USC lives abroad (otherwise it's either Nebraska or Vermont), but I filed in April so I don't know what they're doing right now, things might be different. If you actually got sent to California then you might see an approval soon!

From what service center were you transferred from? I see in your timeline that you were transferred to Nebraska Service Center.

I filed in the beginning of April and was sent to Nebraska. Waited there for almost 5 months and last week I got an email saying I was transferred to California. This happens sometimes because Nebraska is behind (they were taking around 6 months on average) so they're trying to shift the work load around by shipping some of the pending cases to other service centers. Lots of patience needed for this process.

A question for those couples whose beneficiary is in its country of origin and the petitioner is in the US. Did you file the K-3 (I-129F)? I ask this because I'm thinking whether I should file it.

Thank you!

Congratulations ?

One step ahead now!

I wish all our petitions were eligible to be processed this fast! I strongly believe that USCIS should not only give first priority to USC with residency in foreign countries but also to non resident USC who are in foreign countries on tourist visa/etc.

Goodluck with the NVC ?

Hello Lera,

If you look at your NOA1 hard copy, it should state a priority date, it's usually the date they received your petition. So your priority date is the date they start to process your petition.

We filed for one because we figured it is better than nothing. Though, if you end up with a K-3 at the end it is more expensive than a CR-1. However though, very few K-3's are being processed because most of the time the I-130 petition is approved before the I-129f. But, we figured it was better to try it out just in case.

Yes, around 4 months for July filers! Could also take more time or less depending on the service centre where the petition is being processed and other factors also determines the processing time.

I'm thinking 4-6 months so I don't go crazy. 4 months would be awesome, but I'm bracing myself for 6 and trying not to look at the clock.
