Approved at Interview ... but then AP :'(

I was approved at my interview on Thursday July 10th (last week) ... was so excited I even cried. They said my passport would be delivered to me in 5-7 business days. The day after my interview it changed from ready -> AP and now its not changing at all. I am so scared that this is not normal and now I am not going to get my visa anymore, because every other vancouver review I can find says it was issued like the next day. Has anyone else had this experience? Am I just freaking out over nothing? :( Please help, any encouragement and support would be greatly appreciated.

Melissa

That's what happened when my Fiancee's interview was approved also, then a couple of days later it said Issued. If you read it carefully, it is for two different situations. They are preparing your package for delivery, so I wouldn't worry about it, you got approved, so relax and congratulations!

Exactly.

Everyone says AP before issued.

Mine was in AP for only two days before issues but it's different in every country to how long it takes.

Calm down, you were approved.

Congratulations! Glad that all went well!

Thanks :)

I emailed the Consulate yesterday to see whats up, and they replied today saying:

There was a delay in the processing of your K-1 visa because late last week there was a severe worldwide computer issue and our systems were down. Once the system came back up on Monday, it basically took time to catch up on all the cases that were affected by this computer problem. We have since issued your visa, your package is being shipped to Loomis this afternoon. Please wait for Loomis to contact you by email to advise you when to pick up your package at the Loomis location you selected.

Not sure if it only affected the visas being issued at the Vancouver consulate, or other places as well.
