greetings .. i'll make this as brief as possible, i'm sorry if i don't give personal details or the whole full story.

i met a person , he's in the US military. i was going to apply for a k1, yet we couldn't fulfill the two years meeting requirement.. since he didn't visit for a few years because of the revolution in my country and terrorist attacks.. and the warning we have that might get him in troubles and he might lose his security clearance. so basically he can never visit until the country is safe again .. which i doubt would be soon. he could be deployed at any moment

so the military legal assistance told him i have to apply for b1 since i'm not intending to stay there in the US because i have studies in my home country. however he's the one who's gonna sponsor the b1 visa.. because i do not have a checking account. and yet i'm the one who's gonna pay for the tickets and fees etc and i'm going to tell them we are in a relationship.

has anyone any info, or been in the same position before ? or does anyone know if i'll be granted the visitor visa ?

Hi,

There is no such thing as sponsoring a tourist visa. He can pay the filing fee but that is not the same as sponsoring.

There is no requirement that he meets you in your country. The two of you can meet anywhere in the world. If he can't come to Tunisia and you can't come to the US, the two of you can meet in a third country to fulfill the 2 years meeting requirement for the K-1.

Good luck with your visa.

thank you for your reply. it s the living expenses he s going to take care of since i cant prove i hav enough funds.. (private studies and i already pay a lot of money)

he asked for aleave yet he was told he needs 180 days to submit his papers.. so he ll deploy before i see him and/ or apply for k1.

the only way is a b1 an i dont even know if it wil be granted. or if there s a chance

B1 is for business.

B2 is for Tourism

The only way to find out is to apply.

(How did you know it was Tunisia)

Aaaron really, knowing the Country helps but wondered how. May be senility on my part.

Dont listen to them please, yes your husband can sponsor you, means when you are filling the application when they ask you who is paying for your trip, put his name!

i did that when i applied for my B2 visa. we live overseas with no intention of immigrating now.. i had no income and im married to a USC, at the interview they asked me can i see a salary certificate of your husband, i showed it, said how long you been married? i said 7 months.the visa officer said visa approved!

thats it! interview took less than 3 mins.

thank you, your reply gives me hope.. <3

we are not married yet so that's what makes it more difficult, but i will take enough proof of why i have to return and tell them exactly what we are planning to do.

i'll cross my fingers and hope for the best

This is misleading information. The OP is NOT married or engaged to USC. So, there is no husband that can sponsor the trip.

how is it misleading..choose your words please.

im not saying that she can get it, i was replying to the people who keep saying that a tourist visa cant be sponsored and it falls on the person applying alone..now that's misleading because i have my multi entry visa in hand and i havent traveled anywhere, have 0 money, haven't been married for long, they seemed to care only about my sponsor aka the person i said was paying for my trip.

that was my point. i know she isnt married to her fiance yet, i was just clearing this non sense i keep reading on this forum.
