NVC Email Response RE: DS-261 choice of agent and address

Hey!

Ok so on June 8th we received our case number and IIN. I read online that you could email NVC directly with your choice of agent and address through mail rather than wait for the DS-261 to become available online. So we did so on the 8th and today I received an email back from them confirming that they have updated the choice of agent and mailing / email addresses on their system.

This is part of what they said:

We updated the mailing/email address for this case. Please continue to notify the NVC of any change of mailing/email address, or change in personal situation that may affect the principal applicant's entitlement to a visa.

This petition is now eligible for further processing. The petitioner, principal applicant, and/or attorney of record will receive an instruction package regarding further processing of this petition.

Does this now mean I do NOT have to fill out the online form? and just wait for the AOS fee to be invoiced? Anyone had a similar situation???

Thanks in advance for your help!

Darcy

You cannot email the NVC with choice of agent. The DS-261 must be done online.

Then what why did they get back to me and say they have updated the choice of agent and email address / mailing address on their system?

Well you could just wait and see i guess. I would think when they say a form is dead its dead they have old email templates and who knows why they did that.

I sure wouldn't risk it.. However you sending in the DS-261 now you have now turned the clock back 30 days. So its your choice to hope they invoice your IV or not. The DS-261 has nothing to do with the AOS.
