that depends on where you're catching a cab. there's plenty of white cab drivers around here, i would say the majority. but then again you also don't hail one down on a street curb, you call the dispatch and arrange pickup.

I remember trying to catch a cab in DC on New Year's Eve with a group of people. It was me, a Mexican guy, a black/french girl, and a Portuguese woman who looks white. We were trying to get back home, and no cab would pick us up. So we took turns trying to rotate the white girl and the Mexican guy since the bi-racial girl looked more black than French. It was a long 5 mile walk in the cold. Mission failed

Mostly in DC, you're correct. But not black, more like African. The one dude who gave us the finger and sped off was Indian. Most black cabbies have stopped for me when I was in NYC.

White folk get the privilege of being picked up when we don't because cab drivers are more afraid of people who are known for mugging and terrorism than they are of people known for serial murder and child molestation.
