First, the wall was built 30 some years later.

Second, it was in an area occupied in a war Israel got forced into.

Third, as I have been saying repeatedly in the last few days, Hamas shooting rockets out of Gaza has not one single thing to do with Israeli occupation of the west bank. Hamas is a terror organization that wants to kill, period. Hamas is bad not only for Israel but to its own people as well.

So, as you can see, the analogy doesn't quite work for this topic, which is the war with Hamas, and not Israeli occupation of the West Bank.

The reason I bring up the west bank, is that it is an example of what happens when you place nice with the Israeli govt. More settlements, more land being taken, more people detained without charges etc. etc. etc. So if there's a carrot and stick approach being used by the Israeli govt., I'm, having a hard time finding the carrot regarding the west bank. As I stated previously, it's not ok for Hamas to go randomly firing rockets into civilian areas of Israel, but what comes from peace with Israel? If you use the west bank as a gauge, not much.

As far as I can tell Israel isn't trying to slowly annex land in Egypt and Jordan. Israel doesn't have soldiers stationed in Egypt or Jordan. Israel didn't build a huge wall in either of those places. Israel doesn't lock up Egyptian and Jordanian citizens without charging them with anything.

Why doesn't Israel just annex the west bank and give everyone there citizenship? The answer is pretty simple. No matter how many Jewish folks they import from Russia, Ethiopia, and other places, they would never have a Jewish voting majority if they made all the Palestinians in the west bank Israeli citizens. So seems to me they should tear down the existing wall, maybe build one on the 1967 border, withdraw the military and wash their hands of the west bank.

And I'm all for it, and so are most people in Israel believe it or not...BUT...not unilaterally. It would have to be in an agreement with guarantees that the west bank would not turn into Gaza. Until then, it's not going to happen cause if it did, the very next day there would be rockets shot at Israel from the west bank.

Every person and every country makes mistakes, no one is perfect, and like I said I personally believe settlements are one of the biggest mistakes Israel has ever made.

I think that says a lot more about her lack of imaprtlity than it does about a few angry Israelis. I would cheer also, if rockets had been failing on my head, and my govt was striking back. Kind of like Independence day, when cousin Eddie shot down that alien space ship
