When is Israel going to recognize the Palestinian's own right to have country of their own? Which borders should the Palestinians recognize?

I agree. I think Jordan should give it back

Why would I not try to justify a country defending its citizens from rockets and bombings being aimed at them? It's sick not to. Especially when that country takes every precaution - calling ahead, letting people know, giving them time to leave - and then Hamas which is supposed to care about its people warns those people that if they listen, if they leave, they will kill them themselves. Now that - that is sick.

You know looking back. When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, we should have jsut responded in kind and avoided that nasty 2nd world war. FDR declaring war was disproportionate .

Now see how stupid that sounds

As I say, the civilian population is in a no-win situation. So saying that you 'take every precaution' when you know people can't or won't leave?

Jesus

UN report confirms Israel warned Gaza civilians to evacuate before attacks

Special to WorldTribune.com

WASHINGTON — The United Nations has determined that Israel’s military warned civilians before most attacks on the Gaza Strip.

A UN report asserted that Israel’s military notified families to evacuate their homes in the Gaza Strip. The report, dated July 9, said civilian casualties took place after Israeli officers telephoned targeted buildings.

“At least 35 residential buildings were reportedly targeted and destroyed, resulting in the majority of the civilian casualties recorded so

far, including an attack on 8 July in Khan Yunis that killed seven civilians, including three children, and injured another 25,” the report,

titled “Occupied Palestinian Territory: Hostilities in Gaza and Israel Situation Report,” said.

“In most cases, prior to the attacks, residents have been warned to leave, either via phone calls by the Israel military or by the firing of warning missiles.”

The report disputed the Palestinian Authority and Western human rights groups, which asserted that Israel was targeting civilians in the current mini-war with the Gaza Strip. The report said some 150 homes were destroyed in Israeli air strikes.

The PA has urged Gazans to ignore Israeli military warnings of impending attacks. In a statement on July 9, the PA Interior Ministry called on “all our people not to deal or pay attention to the psychological warfare carried out by the occupation.” For its part, Hamas has acknowledged the use of civilians as human shields.

The UN said Hamas and its Palestinian militia allies have been firing hundreds of rockets into Israel. The report said most of the rockets fell into open areas.

“Indiscriminate rocket firing by armed groups from Gaza has targeted main Israeli population centers, but has resulted in no casualties, so far,” the report said.

I think it's generally agreed that the US should have entered the war sooner, not that it shouldn't have entered it at all.

I actually think had the US dropped the oil embargo. Japan would have agreed to a non-agression pact. Not that we should have done that of course.

I don't really care what Israel does. But I bet the army strategy won't actually solve anything. Anymore than our much stronger Army didn't solve anything in Iraq, Afghanistan, Mogadishu, Vietnam, Korea.............

Agreed.

Whoever voted "Goooooo Hamas" has some kind of brain damage, for sure

Yeah, I have this weird thing where I refuse to support the Israeli refusal to recognize a people, whose land it's occupying and has spent decades attempting to force people from their land in the name of peace.
