Why talk about the situation when we can make up analogies that have nothing to do with it?

The context historically is moving Jews from all over the world to a "Homeland" based upon identity as a Jew. That required forcing others off the land they were currently living on. The injustice of that, and continuing to keep the Palestinians prisoners in the largest reservation/'refugee camp on earth absolutely screams for recognition in any talk of this problem.

You immediately identify yourself as unreasonable and incapable of rational thought on this if you refuse to acknowledge this injustice and instead frame it as Israel being under attack. My God, how utterly biased - Israel standing on a street corner, minding its own business.

Insofar as the "right to exist" - well duh, any people have the inherent right to form governments of their choosing. But not the right to take someone else's land to do it. This can only be settled by negotiation, and that negotiation is not about Israel's right to exist so much as it is about the Palestinians' rights to be recognized as equal to those of any Israeli.

Equality.

Take that to a conversation in the many threads that already exist about the issue. This is not what this thread is about. This thread is about fighting the terrorists in Gaza that want to kill innocent civilians. Stop trying to change the subject.

UN's Pillay says Israel may be guilty of war crimes.

Some honest dialogue is necessary.

The UN is a waste of money and should be abolished. And I would say that regardless of its biased stance on the conflict, although that sure doesn't help their case.

sure.

That hospital was in fact empty and being used as storage for bombs. They have found two empty schools being used for the same too. That is true.

i thought they were storing rockets in them?

The one bombed today was empty. The one to which I think you are referring, where 5 people died, was not empty, and it's very sad.

But it seemed you weren't ever going to believe a hospital was empty and used for rocket storage.

wait, what? what makes you think i wouldn't believe such a scenario would occur? that's crazy. i wouldn't for one second think that it wasn't possible that a hospital could be empty and used for weapons storage. it's war, i'm not new to the planet.

the link that i posted had quotes from the nurse manager regarding the bombing. considering the source, i assumed that person was actually in the hospital, as quoted.

I think it's pretty cowardly to use schools and hospitals as storage for weapons. I don't think that is or should be a normal war thing. I think they should be used for hospitals and schools, but that's just me. What should the opposition do, knowing that in those empty hospitals there are weapons, but knowing that by attacking it, the headlines will read "Enemies attack hospital."

Anyway, I will finish with a quote from Kissinger.

"[...] one of the cardinal maxims of guerrilla war: the guerilla wins if he does not lose. The conventional army loses if it does not win."

And I will say, war is hell.

This is true. Israel only ever bombs schools or hospitals that are empty with bomb storage. True story, Israel said it, so it must be true.
